    Dear Tobias,

     

    Thank you very much for the print outs.

     

    Based on the print outs the analyzer is working well.

    The percentage of red blood cells to the total blood volume is defined as hematocrit. It is quantified by measuring the electrical impedance of blood sample. Two standard solutions are used to calibrate the hematocrit sensor. The analyzer then measures the electrical impedance of the blood sample to obtain the hematocrit value. Next, the hematocrit value obtained is corrected for the concentration of the sodium ion.( Please see the attached file from user manual)

    So you always need to have a working sodium electrode ( with the good calibration results and QC results ) to have the good results for HCT.

  • RE: ES & EBG packs policy

    Dear Tobias,

     

    The shelf life for the ES and EBG reagent modules are one year from the date of manufacture. Please make sure to use them before this time.

    Es and EBG reagent modules have dallas chip. When you install these reagent modules, the dallas chip reads the date and analyzer serial number ect.

    When you install the EBG reagent module you can use it for 45 days. You can use ES reagent module for 35 days when you install it.

     

    Regarding your questions:

     

    1. No, you can only use it until the expiration date. When it is expired you can’t use it any more. If you install one reagent module on it’s last day you can’t use it the day after or for 35 or 45 days because it will give you “expired reagent module” message.

    2. Unfortunately we don’t have this option on our reagent modules and you can swap them between analyzers.

    But you can see from the print out that this reagent module was installed on which EBG analyzer for the first time:

    1. Please press 5 for second menu

    2. Press 4 for stored information

    3. Press 5 for reagent module

    4. Press 1 for status. Here you can see the analyzer’s serial number that the reagent module was installed for the first time.

    Depending on the error that you get you might need one of them or both of them. I would recommend to have both of them with you when you go for repair.

    Dear Tobias,

     

    Thank you for the failure report.

     

    On the EL EXPAND analyzer, every time that you have shifts in QC or high slope failure ( Calibration value ), please change the reference electrode and send us the reference electrode lot number, calibration results, QC data. We will send you a replacement for the reference electrode and make an RGA for you.

    We would recommend to run the daily cleaner in the morning, do calibration and run the QC materials. If they are good and within the normal ranges, run the patient samples.

    Dear MEDICA,

    we have an EasyStat thats acting up - it was fine for 1 month, then calibration failed overnight with BD failure.

    We had  80/24 BD Test fail

    performed cleaning with warm water

    produced 97/24 BD Test pass

    performed calibration failed 82/24 BD fail

    BD Test showed 80/24

    FLOW Tests Calibr A B C & Sample Test all ok

    where is the culprit?

    looking for some guidance on troubleshooting since the clinic is filled with patients tonight
