ES noise & drift

Dear Hanna,

a clinic has just installed a new reagentmodule 19071029 - they have now faced a variety of problems with pH noise and pO2 drift.
See attached printouts. Should we troubleshoot the module, or the device?
best regards
Tobias

  • RE: ES noise & drift

    Dear Tobias,

Thank you for the information and print outs.

The ES analyzer will not show the calculated results if the calibration results are not good or if the calculated results are out of the range. ( Please see the attached from user manual )

    1. Looking at the calibration print outs they are all good and within the normal ranges.

    2. Could you please let us know what is the serial number on this analyzer?

    3. Are you using Medica capillary tubing kit for ES? Please send us the part number or a picture of the kit.

    4. Which kind of sample are you testing?

    5. The print outs show that you are using the capillary mode. In the capillary mode the chance of the pH getting exposed to air is very high. When pH changes the PCO2 and PO2 also change.

    6. Please run the normal QC as a patient sample and see if you get the same error. Please send us the calibration print out and this print out.

    Best Regards,
