EL Expand K Slope
Dear Hanna,
Dear MEDICA,
i have a report of an EL Expand -
after 2,5 years their K had a high slope 65+
so they installed a brand new K sensor lot 19221 - to our surprise they still get the high slope 63-65.
The REF was installed about 6 months ago.
Do you have a tip for us, where to direct troubleshooting since it feels peculiar that even with a new sensor they get the same high slope?
kind regards
Tobias

RE: EL Expand K Slope
Dear Tobias,
14- Could you please let us know the install date and the failure date for this reference electrode?
15- Please don’t discard this reference electrode, we want it back to Medica for further investigations. I will make an RGA for you.
Thank you!

Thank you for your email.
- I would recommend to change the reference electrode. ( Please let us know how it goes and send us the lot number for the reference electrode )
- Unfortunately the reference electrode is not under warranty, because there were been using it for six months.
- Are they doing PM ( preventive maintenance) every six months?( Change the tubing- reference electrode)
- What is the serial number on this analyzer?
- Please send us the calibration print out.
- Please send us all the QC print outs.
- What is the lot number for this QC?
- Which kind of sample are they testing?
- Which kind of sample tube are they using? With which anticoagulation?
- What is the sample volume par day?
- What is the part number and lot number for the daily cleaner?
- For how long do they use a fresh daily cleaner after making a new one? Where do they store this daily cleaner?
- Please ask your customer to run the daily cleaner in the morning , do the calibration, run the QC materials then start running the patient samples.
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
